Summer Grovelling
The waves were nothing to write home about, but the water was warm and the sun was out. A fun grovelly session in south east QLD. It was a pretty rare day when the water, sky and wind all came together at once this Summer just been. But then again that's not that unusual for summer.

Early Steps
One of the cool things about starting out is that all you need is whitewater. No need to weigh up which beach or bank, what time and tide etc - just point the board back towards shore and go.

Thirsty Work

La Niña
She's responsible for the often grey and wet summer we've had, not to mention the pretty underwhelming waves on this part of the coast... Oh well, at least the water temp is magic and my garden's nice and green, plus Autumn and Winter will be here before long.

Summer's Coming
With all this warm weather of late it's clear that Summer's just around the corner. Short interval, locally generated and wind affected swells abound, but in a way I know I'm still looking forward to it! Must be something to do with the long days, barbeques, warm water and all the rest that is part and parcel of our Summer.

Either Side
Two beaches on either side of one headland on the same day last Summer. The water was cold after a sustained northerly. Farewell today an epic Winter, let's hope Spring is uncharacteristically good!
