Jealous



I'm often jealous of surfers who grew up at the beach. Many posses seemingly innate abilities in the water, effortlessly making sections and linking turns with graceful arcs. Makes me keen to make up for lost time and follow the groms' example - surf, surf and surf some more. This is Nik at Copa.

I saw this guy out on this really, really small morning and thought "Gee he's keen!"
But why not? The water's warm, sky's blue and he has it all to himself. Better than being on the couch.

In the beginning...




I'm certain there is nothing more exhilarating in surfing than those first rides. It was a long time ago for me now, but I love to watch others find their feet. I reckon joyous learner photos will become a regular fixture here. Kids in the corner at Copacabana.
