Same but Different

Same late January morning as yesterday's post but a different approach. No less valid I reckon, surf the sections as they come. Sometimes I'm trying to force something I really want to do, I have to remind myself not to plan too far ahead, just take it as it comes.

Last Summer

We're in our final month of Spring and on average it has actually been pretty good for what is often the worst surf season. Our other not so good surf season of Summer is close now. Here's one of the better mornings from January this year.

An Uncrowded Beach

"Surfing is the endless search for an uncrowded beach, the perfect wave."

So said Fred Wardy in 1965 (Surfer Magazine August 2005). I'm pretty sure this is Wayne who re-tiled our bathroom recently. A speed run to himself on a beach not renowned for solitude.

Swell in January, a bit blowy but everyone was frothing after an extended run of below waist high conditions.

This was a rare really enjoyable day in January. Fun size swell and an all day offshore.
