Summer Grovelling

The waves were nothing to write home about, but the water was warm and the sun was out. A fun grovelly session in south east QLD. It was a pretty rare day when the water, sky and wind all came together at once this Summer just been. But then again that's not that unusual for summer.

Stunned Mullet

I'm thinking it's probably an Australian expression, so for those from further afield... the stunned mullet is a look of bewilderment or astonishment. The guy on the rocks in the top right is doing a pretty good impression. The waves passing in front of those rocks were nothing special either so I'm not really sure what brought the look on. Maybe he saw a mermaid swim by.

Water's Edge/Ladies Day

I've noticed that my "Water's Edge" collages (usually featuring surfers and their surfcraft on the water's edge) are heavily dominated by blokes. So today we have 100% surf ladies by the water's edge.

McTavish Territory

Testament to Bob's well earned place in Australian surfing and board building history, "McTavish Territory" could pretty much be anywhere with a surfable coast in Australia. But these are a few snatches of a quick trip through northern NSW and southern QLD earlier this year.

Surfing Unlike Any You've Ever Seen Before

Well maybe you have but I sure haven't. Tow surfing behind a blimp, serious turns with no fin, board spins, a head stand plus cat and mouse with an ocean liner. In 1931. Epic. Elmer Peck is a hero.
